Launching Our Virtual Seminar Series

Wildlife Trade Futures will launch its virtual seminar series as part of a new GCRF-funded project on wildlife trade and COVID-19

On 5 February 2021, Wildlife Trade Futures will launch its virtual seminar series as part of a new GCRF-funded project on wildlife trade and COVID-19.

In the first seminar of the series, Rosaleen Duffy (University of Sheffield), Bram Buscher (Wageningen University), Krithika Srinivasan (University of Edinburgh) and Nitin Rai (ATREE) will discuss how political ecology can enhance our understanding of the relationship between COVID-19, zoonosis and wildlife economies.

Future seminars will highlight how other critical lines of inquiry can help us to better understand the relationships between COVID-19, zoonosis and wildlife, and devise alternative, equitable pathways for moving forward. The purpose of this seminar series is to bring under-represented critical perspectives and under-appreciated issues into the core of discussions on COVID-19 and wildlife.

Seminar Registration

Seminars are free for anyone to attend virtually, but advanced registration is required. Time will be reserved for participant Q & A during each seminar. Seminars will be recorded and posted on a project website.

For more information about the seminar series, including information about the date and time of upcoming seminars, please see our seminar poster.
